Karen Itzel Aguilar Miranda is the San Juanico solar workshop assistant for the Green Go Solar Project.
She is 24 years old and grew up and attended high school in the town of Cadejé, Baja California Sur, Mexico. She studied education at CECYTE 11 University in the nearby town of San Isidro where she also competed in track, ultimately making it to the finals for a spot on the Mexican national team. After studying education, she returned to Cadejé and worked as an elementary school teacher until she moved to San Juanico to be with her fiancé Benigno “Pitufo” Murillo Ceseña. Their home was located next to “el Rancho Solar” in San Juanico so their family had since become good friends with Keith. This was the site of the solar project’s first DIY solar panel install and she became interested in learning more about renewable energy. She trained with the program and now serves as a program contact and assistant instructor.
Karen is currently trained in solar theory and panel construction, testing and installation of cells/solar panels/charge controllers, and battery maintenance. She continues to work with the program and will be running workshops on her own in the near future. She speaks native Spanish and will be training in English soon.
Feel free to contact Karen here.
